The Jerry Gust Memorial PATHWAYS Scholarship

Jerry Gust was raised on a farm in Minnesota. As a boy, he got up before school to milk the cows, feed the chickens, and plow the fields. As an adult he went into business, working for many years at Anchor Hocking Glass Company. In his later years he taught at the University of Rio Grande in Gallipolis, Ohio and was very active in the Gallipolis Rotary Club. Even though he didn’t live on a farm as an adult, he always had a garden and was always interested in watching things grow.

Levis is the recipient of the Jerry Gust Memorial PATHWAYS Scholarship. He is interested in business and agriculture like Jerry. Currently, he is working on his Bachelors of Commerce degree at the University of Nairobi. In addition, he is working on establishing Hands On Kenya (http://www.handsonnetwork.org), a project to connect Kenyans with service projects that are meaningful to them and that help improve Kenya.

For a gift of $6,000 or more, a scholarship named for yourself or in honor or memory of a loved one will be given to a disadvantaged though highly qualified young person through PATHWAYS Leadership for Progress. Named scholarships can provide a way of honoring those whose lives have made a lasting impression on us.
